Abuja: Mr Kayode Opeifa, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), announced on Tuesday that emergency responders have been deployed to the location of a train derailment involving a Kaduna-bound train at Asham station.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, a statement posted on the NRC’s X handle detailed that emergency teams and medical personnel have been mobilized to the scene to assist injured passengers. The incident involved the Kaduna-bound AKTS train service, which derailed at approximately 11:09 am at KM 49 between Kubwa station and Asham station.
Efforts are underway to ensure the safety of all passengers, with a full complement of security personnel present at the site. The NRC has confirmed that arrangements are being made to transport all passengers back to Abuja safely.
