Team Edo’s Ezeaku Wins Gold in Men’s 100m at National Sports Festival


Abeokuta: Team Edo on Saturday dominated the 100m sprint at the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) held at the mainbowl of the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, Ogun. Chidera Ezeaku returned in an unofficial time of 10:27 to secure the gold medal.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Ezeaku’s victory was closely followed by his compatriot Enoch Adegoke, who clinched the silver medal, while Emmanuel Taiwo from Rivers earned the bronze. Ezeaku credited his triumph to rigorous preparations and a strong start off the blocks, maintaining his lead through the crucial first 60 meters.

In other developments, the competition saw the disqualification of Favour Ashe, a U.S.-based medal hopeful from Delta, due to an alleged infraction.
