In recent weeks, dozens of young people have gone missing after departing on boats from Senegal in a bid to reach Spain’s Canary Islands. Precise data on the number of missing people is not yet known, but to try and understand why more people are taking such risks to reach Europe, FRANCE 24’s reporters have met the family of one missing young man.
