NSCDC Ogun Command Warns Public of Ongoing Recruitment Scam


Ogun: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun Command, has issued a warning to the public concerning a fraudulent recruitment scam circulating on social media. The command clarified that no recruitment exercise is currently being conducted.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the command’s spokesperson, Mr. Dyke Ogbonnaya, revealed that scammers are exploiting the photographs and reputation of a senior officer to deceive individuals. He emphasized that any legitimate recruitment announcements would be made through official channels and media outlets.



Ogbonnaya advised the public to remain cautious and alert to avoid falling victim to these scams. He stated, “We have been intimated of the social media scam by a syndicate group on unsuspecting persons using the photographs and goodwill of a senior officer in the corps to smartly swindle individuals, groups, and others of their monies through this negative scheme.”



The NSCDC is actively working to identify and prosecute those responsible for the scam. The spokesperson reiterated that the corps and the senior officer have no connection to the fraudulent activities and urged the perpetrators to cease their actions.



Residents are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
