NOUN Appoints Adamu, Ofulue as New Deputy Vice-Chancellors


Abuja: The Management of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has approved the appointment of Prof. Shehu Adamu and Prof. Christine Ofulue as Deputy Vice-Chancellors (DVCs). The Director, Media and Publicity, NOUN, Mr. Ibrahim Scheme, stated that the appointments were conveyed in separate letters dated September 5, signed by the Registrar of the university, Mr. Oladipo Ajayi.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Adamu has been appointed as DVC, Administration, while Ofulue has been named DVC, Technology, Innovation and Research (TIR). The appointments followed their elections by the university’s Senate at its 112th Regular Meeting held on August 28, and subsequent ratification by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council on behalf of the Governing Council.



As DVC (Administration), Adamu will assist the Vice-Chancellor in the day-to-day administration of the university, focusing on leadership in administrative governance and institutional management. Adamu is a former Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and a professor in the same faculty.



Ofulue, as DVC (TIR), will support the Vice-Chancellor in driving innovation, research, and technology initiatives aligned with the university’s strategic goals. The appointments are for an initial period of two years.



The university management expressed confidence in both appointees, highlighting their experience and commitment as key factors in advancing NOUN’s vision and mission.
