NNPC Ltd Plans Shutdown for Port Harcourt Refinery Maintenance


Port Harcourt: The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced that the Port Harcourt Refining Company (PHRC) will undergo a maintenance shutdown. The initiative is part of NNPC Ltd.’s ongoing efforts to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mr Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer for NNPC Ltd., stated that the maintenance and sustainability assessment is scheduled to begin on May 24, 2025. Soneye emphasized that the company is actively collaborating with key stakeholders to facilitate the maintenance process.



“We are working closely with all relevant stakeholders, including the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), to ensure the maintenance and assessment activities are carried out efficiently and transparently,” said Soneye. He further reiterated NNPC Ltd.’s dedication to providing sustainable energy security for Nigeria.



Soneye assured that further updates on the maintenance progress will be communicated regularly through NNPC Ltd.’s official channels, including its website, media platforms, and public statements.
