MPs welcome innovations in Labour Procedure Code

National Assembly members participating in the discussion on the Specialty of the Proposed Labour Code welcomed the document’s innovative solutions.

In general terms, the proposal unifies and systematises the separate diplomas that contain the current regulation of matters relating to Procedural Labour Law.

The document will allow a better practical application of the law, ease in its handling and fairness of decisions, thus guaranteeing , certainty and legal certainty to procedural subjects.

Speaking to the press, within the framework of yet another discussion session on the specialty, MP António Paulo said the diploma encompasses innovative solutions.

He stressed that the aspects that have to do with the guarantees of rights emerging from the legal-labour relationship are being well analysed.

In turn, the member Lizeth Gonga defended that the appreciation of the code must be profound because workers’ rights are at stake.

“The works are positive and the workers’ part is defended more because it is the weakest”, she said.

Lizeth Gonga added that the proposal under discussion will have a “perfect match” with the General Labour Law, recently approved by Parliament.

The debate on the specialty around the proposal of the Labour Procedure Code which started on Monday in the National Assembly, continued Wednesday, with the focus on the analysis of articles 51 to 90, of the first and second book of the diploma
