Kano Government Allocates ?1.1 Billion for Primary School Uniforms

Kano: The Kano State Government has sanctioned N1.1 billion for the procurement of free school uniforms for primary one pupils across the state, aiming to boost enrollment.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the initiative was announced through a statement by Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, the spokesman for Governor Abba Yusuf. The provision of free uniforms is expected to enhance enrollment rates, improve student retention, and promote equal educational opportunities.

The statement highlighted the government’s belief that education is a fundamental right. This step is intended to alleviate financial pressure on parents and draw out-of-school children back into educational institutions. The move is part of a broader strategy to reform education in Kano, in line with the government’s comprehensive educational agenda.
