CHANDIGARH: The ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors’ Summit 2016′ is set to take off on March 7 morning in Gurgaon, with participation of diplomats from a dozen countries, the who’s of India Inc and representatives of foreign firms including Pepsico chairperson Indra Nooyi, who will share her experiences through video conferencing at the two-day event.
The participating countries include the Czech Republic, Japan, Mauritius, New Zealand, China, South Korea, Malawi, Peru, Poland, Spain, Britain and Tunisia.
Union finance minister Arun Jaitley will be the chief guest at the inaugural session. Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will deliver the key note address. Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu, urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu and oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also address the inaugural session. State industries and commerce minister Abhimanyu Sindhu will make a presentation on Haryana.
Of the total 10 parallel sectoral sessions, seven sessions will be organised on the first day of the summit. Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar will be the chief guest at the first session on ‘Make in Haryana: Manufacturing Competitiveness’. This session will focus on automotive, defence manufacturing, railways, aerospace and ease of doing business.
The state government has been able to get confirmation of participation of some of the corporate world’s top names.
The second session, ‘Investment and business opportunities in sunrise sectors based on making Haryana an ICT, ESDM and telecom hub’ will be addressed by minister of state for atomic energy and space Jitendra Singh, Haryana PWD department minister Rao Narbir Singh and secretaries of Union and state government.
Union minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Haryana education minister Ram Bilas Sharma will address the third session on ‘Education, skill development and sports: Developing human resources to realise the vision of Make in Haryana’. The fourth session “MSMEs: The backbone of Haryana’s economy’ will be addressed by Union minister of micro, small and medium enterprises Kalraj Mishra and the Haryana industries minister.
