First Lady Calls for End to Child Labour in Nigeria

Abuja: The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to take decisive action to end child labour and work towards creating a nation where every child can thrive. She made this appeal in Abuja on Thursday in her message marking this year’s World Day Against Child Labour.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, this year’s theme for the World Day Against Child Labour is ‘Let’s Speed Up Efforts! End Child Labour!’ The First Lady emphasized the urgent need to address the plight of millions of children whose dreams are thwarted by the harsh realities of child labour. She expressed that it is unacceptable for children to be forced into work instead of attending school, pursuing their dreams, and learning essential life skills to become productive members of society.

The First Lady called for accelerated efforts to eradicate child labour by strengthening laws, supporting families, and investing in quality education for every child in Nigeria. She urged the nation to build a future where every child has the freedom to thrive, dream, and realize their God-given potential.
