Filling station roof collapses, kills two in Brahmanbarhia

The roof of the Sayera Filling Station on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway’s Bahadurpur broke down on Monday afternoon, trapping the workers.

Fire Service’s Ashuganj Station Officer Alauddin Monir said the locals rescued three of the workers from under the rubble and the fire crew retrieved two bodies later.   

He could not confirm whether any other person was still trapped under the debris. 

Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Amirul Kaisar was supervising the rescue operation.

The dead workers have been identified as Dulal Mia, 50, and Abu Tayeb, 40.

The injured workers were admitted to different hospitals, the Fire Service official said.
