Abuja: Dr Stanley Uzochukwu, Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group, has revealed that his personal residence now shelters 180 orphans, fulfilling a vow he made to God to provide hope and a future for vulnerable children. Uzochukwu discussed the initiative involving the Jesus Only Friends International Orphanage (JOFIN) in Jos during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Uzochukwu explained that his commitment originated from his childhood experiences and observations of the struggles faced by orphans. He made a vow years ago to not only support orphans and vulnerable children but also to open his home to them. He stated, “Today in keeping with that vow, I have made my personal residence an extension of JOFIN and available to about 180 orphans. This decision is not for recognition or publicity but to fulfill a promise I made years ago.”
Uzochukwu emphasized the importance of his residence as an extension of JOFIN, offering children safe shelter, food, education, and a renewed sense of belonging. He aims to inspire the orphans to look beyond their current struggles and believe in their potential. The orphanage, established in 2020 in Plateau, operates on the belief that every child has unique potential and purpose, and with the right support, they can overcome obstacles and achieve greatness.
Despite the challenges faced in caring for the orphans, Uzochukwu remains committed to providing for them. He highlighted the need for essential resources such as water, daily meals, clothing, and shelter, urging generous individuals to help improve the lives of the orphans. “They are our children and deserve better,” he said.
In addition to using his home as a shelter, Uzochukwu shared that the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation (SUF) is part of his spiritual commitment to give back to society. The foundation has undertaken projects such as providing a borehole, rehabilitating a school, and equipping it with learning materials, although further assistance is still needed. “At SUF, we uphold the virtues of humanity and we believe true wealth is not measured by what we accumulate, but by how many lives we lift,” he concluded.
