Centenary: Cherubim & Seraphim Society Vows to Uphold Founders’ Legacies

Lagos: The Cherubim and Seraphim (C and S) Society on Wednesday expressed its commitment to sustaining the legacies established by its founding members as the organization marks its 100th anniversary. The focus is to ensure ongoing service to God and humanity.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the C and S Society outlined its founders’ legacies, including prayer, evangelism, healing, deliverance, and a modest lifestyle, at a news conference held at its headquarters in Okesuna Lafiaji, Obalende, Lagos State. The society is a group within the larger C and S family and aims to honor these values through its centenary celebrations.

The Centenary Anniversary Committee Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, highlighted the church’s foundation by divine providence on June 18, 1925, by Capt. Abiodun Emmanuel, with support from Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase. Ojelabi emphasized the importance of healing, evangelism, and a moderate lifestyle, which were integral to the founders’ work and earned them recognition. He called upon the faithful to impact the world by embracing these cherished legacies.

Celebratory activities commenced on Monday with a walk-for-life and include a revival program on Wednesday. On Saturday, the society plans to launch a musical album, offer free eye tests, and visit traditional rulers, correctional centers, and homes for the needy. The celebrations will culminate with a centenary ordination and a thanksgiving service on June 18.

Earlier, C and S Society Spiritual Head, Babatunde Adebona, stated that the revival program would provide a platform for the church to seek further spiritual direction for Nigeria. He offered prayers for Nigeria and its leaders, seeking an end to insecurity.
