Inhabitants of the MCC Camp at Pallabi, they staged a demonstration before a water pump at Avenue-5 until 2:30pm Saturday.
They went home only after speaking to officials of the Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (WASA), who promised to send a water-carrying truck to the camp on Saturday, Pallabi Police Station SI Abu Sayeed told bdnews24.com.
The officials expressed the hope that water supply to the camp would be restored on Sunday.
“We have not had water in the camp for four to five days. WASA has stopped our supply,” said Faisal, a resident of the MCC Camp at Mipur-11.
The situation compelled the inhabitants of the camp to organise a protest, he said.
More than 250 residents took part in the demonstration, according to bdnews24.com photojournalist Asif Mahmud Ove, who was at the site.
