Bangladesh lose Tamim chasing 147 to win against India in key World Twenty20 clash

Bangladesh have lost Tamim Iqbal after the opener gave Bangladesh a good start chasing India’s 146 for a win in their crucial World Twenty20 Super 10 clash.

Ravindra Jadeja outfoxed Tamim (35) with a flat quicker as the batsman danced down the track but missed the ball, leaving MS Dhoni to calmly whip off the bails.

Mohammad Mithun Ali (1) was dismissed early when he tried to hammer Ravichdran Ashwin out of the ground but only managed to drag it straight to Hardik Pandya in the deep.

Bangladesh were 56 for 2 in 8 overs with and Sabbir Rahman (18) and Shakib Al Hasan (1) in the middle at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Earlier, Bangladesh smartly topped up a fine bowling effort with clever fielding to restrict India to 146 for 7.

Bangladesh bowlers kept India on a tight leash from the outset. The spinners then shone before a late assault from India took them to the total.
