Bangladesh clinch fifth spot in ICC One-Day rankings: BCB

Having won five bilateral series on the bounce in their backyard over the last two years, the Tigers were seventh with 97 points in the ICC’s last update.

Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and co also played in the quarterfinals of the World Cup for the first time last year in Australia and New Zealand.

The governing council of world cricket releases a special update in the rankings once a year to discard points a team had earned more than two years ago.

The updated list was revealed in the meeting in Dubai but an official announcement is yet to be made.

In this update, the ICC considers all the points earned in the year leading to the cut-off date and half of the points earned in the preceding year.
