Aquatics: 50 Participants for Africa Level 2 Coaching Clinic

Abuja: A total of 50 participants are expected to attend the upcoming Africa Level 2 Coaching Clinic in Abuja, set to begin on Friday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Taiwo Oriss, Secretary General of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation (NAqF), stated that the event, organised in collaboration with Africa Aquatics, is designed to expose coaches to modern trends and developments in the sport.

Oriss highlighted the aim of the clinic, which is to equip and build capacity for coaches across the nation with the required skills, bringing them up to speed with modern trends and the ever-changing rules governing the sport. He emphasized that some Nigerian athletes had underperformed due to technical gaps, and this clinic would help coaches meet international standards to properly train their athletes.

Additionally, Oriss mentioned the expectation of a facilitator from South Africa, Cedric Finch, who will conduct the three-day theoretical and practical clinic at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
