Owerri: President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday attributed Nigeria’s survival from potential collapse to the 10-year governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He made this assertion during a book presentation titled ‘One Decade of Progressive, Impactful Leadership in Nigeria,’ held at the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the book, authored by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, chronicles the APC’s decade-long journey in power. President Tinubu, who inaugurated several infrastructure projects upon his arrival in the state, emphasized the significance of the book as it documents the collective efforts and challenges encountered by the progressive minds in the country over the past ten years. He lauded Uzodimma for his foresight and achievements in documenting the party’s milestones and struggles.
President Tinubu expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future under the Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting economic growth and stability as notable achievements. He shared that the economy grew by 4.23 percent in the second quarter, with inflation dropping to 20.12 percent in August, marking the lowest rate in over three years. Furthermore, he noted the improvement in Nigeria’s external reserves and trade surplus, attributing these advancements to the APC’s governance.
Tinubu encouraged critics to trust in the progressive government, assuring them of a better economic future for all Nigerians. He refuted claims of religious persecution, asserting the presence of religious harmony in the nation.
Governor Uzodimma, in his remarks, described the book as an honest account of the APC’s governance from 2015 to 2025, detailing its achievements and challenges. He praised President Tinubu’s leadership and highlighted the party’s foundational values of equity, inclusion, service, and discipline.
The event also saw commendations from the National Chairman of APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who underscored the party’s transformative impact on Nigeria’s political landscape. Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the Obi of Onitsha also lauded Uzodimma’s effort, acknowledging the book as a significant contribution to the nation’s political history.
