Abuja: The Advance National Integrity Movement (ANIM) has reaffirmed its commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria. Dr. Abubakar Fakai, the National Leader of ANIM, made this declaration during a National Leadership Retreat held in Abuja. The event, themed ‘Leading with Integrity: Building Resilient Leadership for National Rebirth,’ focused on fostering discussions among young leaders from Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the retreat aimed to unite young leaders to address national issues related to Nigeria’s unity, progress, and development. Fakai emphasized the importance of collaboration and commitment to the nation’s cause, stating, “We cannot allow or compromise anything that will tamper with the unity and progress of this country.” He highlighted the need to prioritize national interests over political and business affiliations.
Dr. Longji Dambok, the keynote speaker and Chief Officer of Distribution Kingdom Network, addressed the importance of integrity in leadership. Dambok argued that integrity must be embraced at a personal, systemic, and cultural level to ensure effective leadership. He warned that without integrity, corruption is inevitable, and systems will fail. He urged for a new approach to leadership that embodies integrity at all levels.
Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu, the National Patron of ANIM, also stressed the need for quality leadership to promote national unity and progress. Danu shared his personal connection to Nigeria, underscoring his belief in the country’s potential despite challenges. He called for leaders to rise above religious divisions and focus on the country’s collective future.
