AL leader jailed for causing disturbance at JSC exam centre in Kushtia

The verdict against Mirpur Upazila Awami League branch secretary Ruhul Alam Biswas was issued on Thursday, said local police OC Rabiul Islam.

Alam attempted to forcibly enter the examination centre with a group riding on motorcycles while the test was ongoing, Islam told bdnews24.com.

“Police detained him for disturbing law and order. He was brought before a mobile court, which jailed him.”

Mirpur UNO and Mobile Court Judge SM Jamal Hossain said Ruhul Alam had broken the ‘Public Examinations Law 1980’. He has been given a 10-day jail sentence for the offence, he said.

Alam has been sent to the prison, OC Rabiul said.
